Where state I am consuming Rotten Food or Rats for myself? Its effects are the antithesis of my playstyle. In addition Weltcaps, because they regenerate are one of if not the most abundant item in the game. I went into that Boss battle with 100 Weltcaps (insanely more than I needed) which I used in conjunction with the Mortal Tokens because Weltcaps not only give me health but because my familiarity with them was maxxed, on my next dodge after consumption I use no Stamina. I use Solomon and the entire reason I picked Solomon was for his Resolve base and the fact he accumulates Resolve when struck while hardened so Rats are a bad idea to use as you suggested when doing so takes away the very reason I chose him. Why use rats and lose Resolve to get health when you have Weltcaps? Also the Mortal Tokens give me a good bit of health the next time I am hit while hardened.
Not a good trade for my personal fighting style.
Rats regenerate 5HP less than Weltcaps but they do so faster however consuming rats costs Resolve. Not a good thing to be throwing away your Resolve when you are trying to build Resolve for Weapon Abilities in a fight. Particularly since timing in the final fight had me pick which items to use in the small spaces of time I had in the fight and I possessed a mountain of Mortal Tokens and used those instead along with Weltcaps. I went back right before the final boss battle and gave all the rats to Gorf and played him a tune for old time's sake. I only died to one boss one time before the final boss and that was Tarsus. I got all the skins for all 4 shells and never used all of the rats on my playthrough. And you are choosing the wrong items for someone else's playstyle.
