"It's just an advanced input method that's a hassle to set up properly. This was the first thought that popped into my mind when using flick-stick. Isn't this only good for competitive shooters? It's just a nice option for competitive shooters. If you're developing a first person game with any kind of action elements to it, be it a shooter, hack-n-slash, or whatever else, adding flick-stick is a huge boon for anyone on console or without access to mouse aim for whatever reason.

  • Pro Fortnite player Ninja's reaction to flick-stick (as well as a cursory YouTube search of "flick-stick fortnite" showing page after page of creators calling it "broken" and "aimbot").
  • Pro Team Fortress 2 player SolarLight's video on using gyro+flick-stick in TF2 competitive.
  • JibbSmart's (flick-stick creator) Aimlab controller vs.
  • Nerrel's Steam controller video (timestammped to Aimlab results).

  • This button functions like lifting the mouse off the mousepad so you can get your bearings without needing to pause the game or shimmy your controller in a weird way. You should also pair flick-stick+gyro with a "gyro modifier" or a button to toggle the gyro on and off. This is why you pair it with gyro aim to fill in the gaps of what flick-stick can't do. The only disadvantage is that the right stick can no longer look up or down, and the right stick still isn't very precise for aiming. Think of something like RE7's quick turn button, but on the right stick and applied in every direction you push the stick or imagine a top down shooter like Hotline Miami, but in first or third person. r/CoOpGaming - A community for co-op gamingįlick-stick is a camera system where your camera instantly points in the direction you push the stick in. r/xboxone - Xbox-specific subreddit for general Xbox news and discussion r/playstation, /r/PS4 & /r/PS5 - PlayStation-specific subreddits for general PlayStation news and discussion
